Welcome to our blog! This has been many years in the making, but until 2015, we hadn’t taken any steps forward.
Garrett and I thank you for visiting our blog as our tiny house/financial adventures are just beginning! Our plan, in a nutshell, is to break our cycle of excess consumerism and eliminate debt.
UPDATE: We moved into our small, 536 sq ft house in September 2015!
You may be a fan of ours if you:
- like to save money;
- are a tiny house enthusiast; or
- you, yourself, are also embarking on another path, the road less traveled.
We look forward to sharing with you and encourage you to share yours with us! Having a support network helps to keep us accountable and encouraged to keep moving forward.
September 2016 Update
We’ve come a long way since the beginning of our blog. We’ve shared our inspiration for making some massive changes, the optimizations we’ve undertaken to downsize our lives, and the progress made in crushing debt.
Since April 2015 when we started our blog, we’ve paid off our credit card debt, sold the big house, purchased the small house, and paid off the small house mortgage, and also paid off our student loans.
Claudia transitioned from side hustling to make a full-time business out of side hustling.
First Anniversary in the Small House
Remember what the vacant lot looked like before?
Well, we have our small house, which we moved into September 2015!

And we couldn’t be happier! Since we moved into the small house, we’ve further optimized our lives to get out of debt and eliminate wasted time, wasted money, and wasted energy.
March 2017 Update
As a result of our efforts, we’re completely, 100% debt free!
